Roundup Mar 2012
It's here! It's here! IT'S HERE!!! Not Christmas. IT'S RIDING SEASON! As we go to print, rides are being planned. Some of the rides that are set:
April 14 - Mooneshine, Illinois Run
May 6 - Ride Janie Ride www.ridejanieride.org
May 13 - Mooseheart Blessing of the Bikes
There are many more rides in the works! Wounded Warrior, Ride for Autism Speaks, Topless Tour (ABATE) to name a few of the charity runs. MR are also planning some runs just for us!!
Rescue Rider classes are being arranged for early April. Please see www.rescueriders.org for information about this worthwhile 501(c)3 organization. They teach minor first aid and accident scene management. Everyone, whether two wheels or four, should learn these things.
Very soon "Cruisin for the Heart" poker run books will be available. This is an event planned by The Kenosha Moose Riders that includes more than a dozen Moose Lodges in Illinois and Wisconsin. Books are $10. Kenosha raised over $3000 last year that was presented to Mooseheart during a football game last year. You have until the party, on September 15, to get your book stamped by all of the participating Lodges. It is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please sell books to all of your friends!
We've had two successful dinner events in the last few months. Thank you to our Moose Rider Team for all the hard work. Especially Mike Meador, who takes on the bulk of the planning and responsibility for all of our events, including Fish Fry.
Because of the events, we have money in the coffers! T-shirts, patches, sweatshirts and other MR branded accessories forthcoming! See a Moose Rider officer if you would like to order something.
Lodge and all Chapter (including Moose Riders) elections are in April. Please come out and vote! Make your choice for the best candidates! That also means your MR dues are up.
Time for a ride to The Rock!
